Schools in Hove

Hove has a reasonable spread of state primaries, a well-regarded secondary and sixth form, and a couple of long-established independent schools. School catchment and admissions criteria change from year to year, so treat this as a starting point for your own research rather than a final answer.

State secondary

• Hove Park School, the main state secondary serving much of Hove, situated next to Hove Park itself.
• Cardinal Newman Catholic School, a Catholic secondary school with its own admissions criteria based on faith practice.
• BHASVIC (Brighton Hove & Sussex Sixth Form College), a large, well-regarded sixth form college taking students post-GCSE from across Brighton & Hove.

State primaries

Hove has a number of primary schools spread across its neighbourhoods, including Hove Junior School and Hove Infant School near the town centre, plus others serving Poets Corner, Cliftonville, and the areas further north. Admission is generally based on distance from the school within Brighton & Hove City Council's catchment system.

Independent schools

• Brighton & Hove High School, a girls' independent school (part of the GDST group) on The Droveway, taking pupils from age 3 through to 18.
• St Christopher's School, an independent day school in Hove covering the early years through to secondary age.
